List utilities by machine and operating mode
A utility schedule identifies the selected machines and their production, startup and cleaning requirements. Washing introduces water and drainage duties; thermal and evaporation systems introduce their selected heating and cooling interfaces. Filling and controls need the services specified for their supplied configuration. A single site-wide consumption number can conceal incompatible peak demands.
Describe the available services at the connection
Provide supply voltage and frequency, available heating services, water conditions, cooling arrangement and compressed-air conditions where required by the equipment. Pressure, temperature, quality and connection location can affect selection. Equipment duties are project-specific, so the proposal should state utility requirements rather than borrowing figures from an unrelated installation.
Include returns, drains and maintenance access
The process layout includes utility return routes and drainage as well as incoming connections. CIP supply and return need a defined circuit, while open conveyors and brush washing equipment require their own cleaning access. Review pipe routes, low points, safe access and maintenance space with the layout. These details are useful early enquiry inputs even when the final machine list is still being selected.
